Silicon TV Tuners

Entropic's silicon TV tuner technology is well suited for the design of low cost, high performance, low power and small footprint, satellite, terrestrial and cable single and multiple tuner ICs. Our silicon TV tuner ICs integrate RF functions including those performed by a surface acoustic wave filter, with other major discrete components into a single die while maintaining the performance of non-silicon can tuners. Our system architecture is capable of addressing today's legacy standard interfaces to digital demodulation ICs, and at the same time, is optimized for future interfaces. Entropic's architecture is ideal for an integrated, multiple tuner, single IC implementation.
Our silicon TV tuners have a low noise, high dynamic range front-end and low phase noise design combined with the integrated, tunable, high selectivity RF filters to ensure that we can meet the stringent requirements of both terrestrial and cable applications. Our fully-integrated, auto-calibrated, analog signal processing and high isolation techniques, including advanced floor-planning methodologies, enable us to design multi-standard, multiple tuners on a single silicon die.
HDMI™ Receivers
Entropic’s innovative HDMI receiver ICs provide the highest level of integration combined with best in class performance. Using highly advanced digital signal processing techniques to achieve extremely robust, jitter-tolerant signal recovery, Entropic’s industry leading receivers can equalize up to 40dB of cable attenuation at frequencies exceeding 825MHz, far exceeding HDMI specification requirements. This performance enables the TV set manufacturer to position HDMI inputs anywhere in the TV set without the need for external equalizers, repeaters, or switches.
